Study purpose
The purpose of this clinical trial is to determine whether seltorexant (JNJ-42847922), added to current antidepressant treatment, may help reduce depressive symptoms and sleep problems.
The effect of seltorexant is compared with placebo according to the study protocol.
- Difficulty falling asleep.
- Difficulty staying asleep.
- Waking too early.
Who may be eligible?
- Adults aged 18 to 74.
- Diagnosis of depression.
- Previous antidepressant treatment that was not sufficiently effective.
- Ongoing depressive symptoms despite current treatment.
Study information
The study includes screening and a double-blind treatment phase. An optional second part may include induction, stabilization, maintenance and an end-of-study visit depending on protocol criteria.
